Legrand is a leader in power, light and digital technologies for homes, workplaces and data centers. In preparation for the release of their ELIOT IoT (Internet of Things) program, they hired Inphantry to create an immersive, 360° projection mapped video for their launch party in New York.
At Legrand, they have the technologies to facilitate better connectivity and intelligence—enabling enhanced productivity, efficiency, comfort and sustainability. Their ELIOT program aggregates these technologies and symbolizes the company’s intent to continue to advance connectivity and intelligence in the Built Environment. They were joined by partners Amazon Alexa, Samsung and Cisco in launching ELIOT, which offered a purpose-built cloud, gateways for installed legacy offerings and an array of natively-connected new products, among other things.
For this project, Inphantry ideated, produced, shot, animated and edited a 360° projection mapped video. Legrand wanted to illustrate for launch party attendees how efficient and comfortable the ELIOT program could make people’s everyday lives. Rather than tell, we created a video that showed them: a character in the video (“Sophie”) interacted with key Legrand offerings, as well as some solutions that hinted at what’s possible with Legrand’s portfolio of products in the future.
Partnering with Samsung, we went beyond projection mapping to create a more personal VR experience. Viewers of the video were able to follow a day in the life of Sophie; the key takeaway being how IoT is always present, making life increasingly convenient as the day wears on and you move to new places and spaces.
